Michalsons Attorneys offers traditional legal services
Our legal services cover the entire technology spectrum.
Generally, we provide legal services around the issues mentioned under “Focus Areas” on the right.
More specific legal services (as mentioned under “Type of Legal Services” on the right) include:
- Giving legal advice on various ICT law issues taylored to your specific legal issue;
- Carrying out compliance audits;
- Drafting and reviewing documents, contracts and information security policies (we do a lot of work drafting IT contracts and localising foreign contracts for overseas companies doing business in South Africa)
- Giving seminars on ICT law issues (generally as a webinar or at your offices).
We have also developed a set of packaged solutions to deal with various ICT legal issues.
All communications, findings, and advice are privileged and no one can use them against you.
We do not try to do everything. If someone does something faster or better than we do, we will point you in that direction. We have a network of local and international associates who we recommend and work with.

Our related company Online Legal offers online legal services.
This includes:
- Legal Guidance (in the form of downloadable opinions, FAQ’s, case summaries, checklists anf Guides)
- Documents (including templates).
Online Legal do not provide legal advice.
They provide legal guidance to a generic legal issue.
Legal guidance differs to legal advice in that:
- you do not consult with your attorney face-to-face,
- the legal service is not charged for on an hourly basis and
- it addresses the types of issues you sometimes would consult your attorney on, but the answers you receive are not tailored to your company (which is why it’s not strictly speaking “advice”, but “guidance”).
