Possible approaches to resolving domain disputes

There are various different approaches or courses of action that you can follow in an attempt to get the registrant of a domain name to transfer it to you.  Each one has its own cost implications.

The different approaches

  1. Send the registrant a friendly letter asking them to transfer it.  If you don’t ask you don’t get.  Surprisingly, if you ask some registrants who are not using a domain name to transfer it to you because you have really valid reasons to use it and offer to pay their out-of-pocket expenses they often transfer it to you.  The Internet community can be quite friendly.
